Key Issues

i wear scrubs. at first, it was a stretch convincing my clientele that i could be trusted with their money despite the fact i was impersonating a medical professional. then we all got used to me being comfortable. this is about my freedom, see, and i got this great attitude sporting my scrubs!!

Yeah, I'm with ya. Really, I was just feelin' some peeps out. Ya know, wondering if I could get away with wearing 'em to my next real estate closing. (I am one for comfort...)

I am an LPN by trade. My first job I GOT to wear WHITES. The last 2 employers insisted on scrubs, one place insisted on ugly burgandy, the other a lovely shade of fuschia, that looked great on me.

I will say I think employers insist on scrubbing everyone, because it is easier to control wardrobe.

We all know Americans have forgotten how to dress, not all of us, but some of us. I would rather see scrubs, that Susies thong hanging out, boobs hanging out, ill fitting low slung pants, with a bit of extra hanging over the side. I am tired of what has become some "workplace wardrobe".

I will also add here, scrubs are certainly economical for most households.

Heh. That top pictured is on sale for $19.95... Floored me! But maybe they are available for more competitive prices elsewhere.

I should have been more specific. NURSES wearing scrubs seemed like a normal move a few years back. It is the employment of scrubs across the board that is bothersome.

And yet...It occurred to me after writing this post, that my observations may very well be a local deal. Believe me, if you lived in my little town, you'd notice it too. EVERYONE is wearing them. It is not work-wear here; it is a trend. A very odd one.

yeah, i was just bullshitting. i wear a suit everyday. the same fashion statement here, though. teachers in scrubs? huh? what's that about?

I showed up in a bar wearing scrubs and was scoffed at. Hell, I thought I was wearing chef attire.

I own one scrub top that I inherited from my second ex -- and ER doc -- came complete with some permanent blood stains. I wear for yard work. It scares the bugs away.

...who cares what people wear.

People who blog tend to notice weird little details of life that seem trivial to normal people. Believe me, it is a curse, and the page is for purging.

I 'get' to wear scrubs in my out-patient department hospital job. Beats getting my own good clothes drooled, peed, puked and shat upon, or worse yet being mistaken for the secretary as I get up from my computer and snap on gloves and use your arm for target practice (I'm actually one of the best phlebotomists you'll ever meet). Not to mention that getting down on my knees by your wheelchair or climbing up on your gurney or crawling underneath the counter to tweak the computer connections wreaked continual havoc on my pantyhose back when we wore street clothes, or briefly, stewardii mufti!! I appreciate looking like a medical professional AT WORK, even if I don't work in the OR, but wear that shit out in public? ONLY if I have to stop for emergency groceries on the way home. And the new ones have such a high polyester to cotton ratio that they are NO good even for grunging around the house or doing yardwork. Shudder. But they do take the thinking part out of getting dressed in the morning -- wherein, I suppose, lies the crux of the trend. Sheeple, as Rob was wont to say. Sigh.
